Location

• Hope Cove is just a 5-minute drive away and consists of two stunning sandy beaches. The water quality is designated as excellent, so the ideal location for children to splash around. The chocolate box seaside village has some lovely places for food including The Cove or The Hope & Anchor.

• Salcombe is just a 5-10 minute drive away, a charming little town on the bank of what is often described as the prettiest harbour in England. Picture-perfect pastel-coloured houses make up a Positano-like scene overlooking water, sandy beaches, and rolling green hills of the surrounding countryside. Salcombe has a uniquely wonderful array of shops ranging from an acclaimed grocer, butcher and baker to art galleries selling serious contemporary works and chic boutiques.

• Bantham is close too, just a 10-15 minute drive away. Nestling deep in the South Hams at the mouth of the River Avon is Bantham Beach. Beautiful scenery with panoramic views over Bigbury Bay and the famous Burgh Island, great for Agatha Christie fans to see. Great for surfing, and if you’re a beginner the Bantham Surfing Academy based there is perfect for lessons.

Reviews

What a fantastic location with an even better view! I struggled to watch the TV because I couldn’t take my eyes off the view from the living room or on the raised area. The house is in a brilliant location for visiting local attractions in Salcombe and Dartmouth, and also really close to breathtaking beaches. We ate at the Beachhouse at South Milton Sands and the food was delicious but a bit punchy from a cost perspective. A lovely break and a thoughtful host.

Wow, an incredible place with amazing views! We were certainly able to relax and watch the world go by and marvel over the wildlife across the valley, so much better than any TV show. Just a short drive into Hope Cove and Salcombe unlocks lots of walks, restaurants, and bars. A perfect place to break open a bottle of red and chill.

Absolutely fabulous visit and felt like a home from home. We were originally travelling with our two-year-old and two dogs, but decided to leave the dogs at home last minute, however it would have been perfect for them. The house had everything we needed, was clean and we enjoyed spending time there rather than it feeling like a ‘base’. Freya had made sure we had a travel cot set up on our arrival. The shower and bath were great, with lovely hot water, the property had good wifi, comfy beds and a well-equipped kitchen.
