About N° 16 The Salcombe
If you want to take to the high seas without even getting your feet wet, then N° 16 The Salcombe is perfect for you. This lovely one-bedroomed, first floor apartment is within the complex that was formerly the Salcombe Hotel.
The Space
One of our smaller, more unique apartments, half of it has been designed to mimic being on a boat - with portholes, (well, round windows anyway), glorious wooden floors, a bijou galley-style kitchen, and a double bed that folds away into the wall if you want extra room during the day. There’s a breakfast bar/work area dividing the room up from the living room, which has a generous amount of seating looking out onto the harbour.
Painted in subtly muted tones, the effect is pleasantly calming, which you’ll appreciate as there is so much to do and enjoy in the town and surrounding area that the ‘chill’ time will be needed.
“Here today, up and off to somewhere else tomorrow! Travel, change, interest, excitement! The whole world before you, and a horizon that’s always changing!” – Kenneth Grahame, The Wind in the Willows
Situated in the centre of town with about 350ft of estuary frontage, this is compact living but done with such style, you’ll appreciate the economic space being used so well. This is the perfect apartment for a short-stay, or a longer stay if you are looking for an easy-living base.
You can pull back the curtains of your sitting room and be met with superb views out across Salcombe harbour. Enjoy your morning coffee with a croissant or pastry whilst watching the water traffic toing and froing up and down the harbour. Later in the day, luxuriate with a sundowner as you enjoy the sun setting across the water, before going out for the evening and experiencing some of Salcombe’s fabulous eateries. French windows open onto a Juliet balcony above the communal lawns which are a stone’s throw from the water. You are a mere 400 metres away (via a short ferry ride) from the nearest beaches of East Portlemouth.
The shower room is smart - compact, functional, and well-appointed with brick-effect tiles, ladder-style heated towel rail, ubiquitous power shower, basin and loo, whilst the fully equipped kitchen has a great deal of storage and work surfaces considering the amount of space it occupies. You get a lot of oomph for your square footage here! The only slight drawback is that the kitchen and bathroom are across the hallway from the living rooms, accessible and secured with a key, which some may find prohibitive. It does have step-free, level access along the communal corridor.
Guest access
There is free on-site parking for one car per apartment, free Wi-Fi, an outdoor swimming pool, and a private entrance. This apartment does not have a lift service.
Other things to note
BATHROOM SEPARATE
The only slight drawback is that the kitchen and bathroom are across the hallway from the living rooms, accessible and secured with a key, which some may find prohibitive. It does have step-free, level access along the communal corridor.

The room was comfortable and clean, and the view was spectacular. Added bonus was the car parking.
