The space
This spacious, light-filled Sea Captain’s House occupies a central spot in the centre of Salcombe. Enjoy estuary and sandy beach views from every angle on three terraces; find a sociable table and barbecue for fair-weather dining and sun loungers surrounded by lavender and greenery.
Pack up buckets, spades, and fishing nets and jump on the Salcombe ferry over to sandy beaches in East Portlemouth or head to South Sands for paddle boarding. Walkers can join the South West Coast Path in town with spectacular paths in either direction; the route to Bolt Head is particularly inspiring.
Cook in the well-equipped large open plan kitchen (with more dreamy views); find a wine fridge (and a welcome bottle) and cocktail corner kitted out with glasses and shaker – everything you need for a lively dinner party.

Salcombe is a charming little town on the bank of what is often described as the prettiest harbour in England.
Picture-perfect pastel-coloured houses make up a Positano-like scene overlooking water, sandy beaches and rolling green hills of the surrounding countryside.
Salcombe has a uniquely wonderful array of shops ranging from an acclaimed butcher and baker to art galleries selling serious contemporary works and chic boutiques.

The place was absolutely wonderful and we had a brilliant long weekend. Clean but cosy in an absolutely brilliant location with amazing views. The carport fits a number of cars and removes any parking anxieties. Freya was brilliantly responsive and the booklet left in the property is super handy. Would return 100%.

What a fantastic property. Great views, great facilities, great location. Perfect. We had the best stay. Cooked in a couple of nights (never stayed in such a well stocked house!) and took the v short stroll to Salcombe the rest of the time. Highly recommend. First class west and first class host

Most perfect location in Salcombe!! View to die for, 1-minute walk to centre, but also peaceful and tranquil on the terrace. the house has EVERYTHING you could need….every drawer has useful things!! Well-stocked kitchen and bathrooms, lovely linen, and extra touches.
